A Note from Tom Smith

If you’re one of our loyal e-newsletter readers, you may be surprised to see this note instead of a standard article. (Keep reading to see even more changes.)  Starting this month, the e-newsletter will include a brief “hello” from me, along with an article or two about trends in education, productivity, getting the most out of your co-workers, etc. – in addition to our standard company and product updates. It’s an experiment designed to provide you with additional relevant, helpful information. What do you think? Click here to read more >>>

eSchool Solutions Hires a New CTO

Chris Bongiovanni recently joined eSchool Solutions as chief technology officer. A former educator himself, Chris will lead our efforts to help districts leverage technology to improve operations. In this new role, Chris is charged with integrating eSchool Solutions’ suite of applications and developing technologies that reduce administrative overhead.

San Bernardino USD Recognized for Innovation

Scholastic Administrator recently featured San Bernardino USD’s innovative approach to substitute management. Elaine Alexandres, coordinator for human resources, implemented a five-step approach to streamline and strengthen substitute management. The results? A more efficient use of resources and fewer lost learning days. Click here to read the brief article.

Is your district taking an out-of-the-box approach to substitute management or professional development? Email us your story for a chance to be featured in a future e-newsletter.

Two final notes. First, we’d like to congratulate a few districts at eSchool Solutions who are branching out to new services:

  • Merced City School District, CA recently transitioned from SEMS to SmartFindExpress
  • IDEA Public Schools, TX just purchased SmartFindExpress; and
  • Peel District School Board joined the Ontario shared direct response team.

And finally, we’ll be at the following events:
