Conference Deadlines Fast Approaching
February 19th, 2010Shelley
We’re less than two months away from the annual SmartFindExpressSolutions Summit! The eSchool Solutions team is in full conference mode – developing presentations, preparing handouts, planning the welcome reception, and more. As a result, you’ll leave New Orleans with the tools you need to successfully manage SmartFindExpress, as well as real solutions – from your peers – to generate greater efficiencies in substitute management. And, we guarantee you’re going to have fun in the process!
Please make note of two important – fast approaching – deadlines:
- Early conference registration ends Monday, March 1. Don’t miss the chance to save your district money!
- Discounted hotel room rate and availability guarantee ends Monday, March 8. The Sheraton New Orleans is offering a great price on rooms; just $129 (+ tax), but you’ll have to act fast! Remember the French Quarter Festival starts Saturday, April 10 and the hotel is sold out that night.
I’ve created this handy dandy SmartFindExpress Solutions Summit checklist for your convenience. Remember to:
- Complete your online conference registration by March 1 to receive the early registration discount
- Make your flight arrangements (plan to arrive in time for the welcome reception Wednesday, April 7 from 4:30 to 6:00P)
- Contact Airport Shuttle New Orleans to arrange your ride to/from the airport/hotel (a rental car is not necessary)
- Make your hotel reservation at the Sheraton New Orleans (as noted above)
- Check out Shelley’s Picks for a list of fun things to do each evening – or over the weekend, if you’re sticking around
- Go to www.neworleanscvb.com to request a Visitor’s Planning Guide; access to great information regarding restaurants, music, area attractions and tours, as well as area maps and coupons
- Bring plenty of business cards to share with your peers
We can’t wait to welcome you to Crescent City. Laissez les bon temps rouler y’all!
Hotel Suggestions for Saturday, April 10
January 7th, 2010Shelley
I’m sorry to report that the Sheraton New Orleans is completely booked Saturday, April 10. Not to worry, though! I just did a quick check on Hotels.com and found some great deals:
- International House $149
- Country Inn & Suites New Orleans French Quarter $169 – Note the name of this hotel is misleading. While it’s a short walk to the French Quarter, it’s technically in the Arts District. Still, a great location!
- Omni Royal Crescent Hotel $144
- Hilton New Orleans/St. Charles Avenue $129
- Doubletree New Orleans $123 – Great value, great location!
The above hotels are just blocks from the French Quarter and right in the middle of the Arts District. A wonderful New Orleans neighborhood!
For a little perspective, click here to access a map of the French Quarter and Arts District.
Remember, it’s French Quarter Festival weekend, so rates and availability may change frequently. Visit Hotels.com for the most up-to-date information. Good luck!
Make Your Hotel Reservations Soon!
December 3rd, 2009Shelley
A little birdie told me the Sheraton New Orleans is almost completely booked for Saturday (April 10). If you’re planning to spend the weekend in New Orleans – and I highly recommend that you do – consider making your reservations soon. When you contact the hotel, remember to mention eSchool Solutions to get the special discounted rate of $129 per person, per night. Click here for more info. Once the Sheraton is sold out, Meghann and I will do our best to help you find alternative hotels for a Saturday night stay.
By the way, if you were visiting New Orleans this weekend, you could stop by the Ritz-Carlton and walk through their spectacular Christmas display – a life-size gingerbread house. Guests have to walk through the house to get to the front desk, restaurant and lounges. See a photo at ABCNews.com.
